The unit pt stands for points. The pt (points) unit in CSS is one of the absolute units with a fixed and unchanging value. W3C (WWW Consortium) does not recommend pt (points) units to display unit values on screens, but rather recommends them as unit values on printing press devices such as printers.
The pt (points) unit of 12pt when converted to millimeter units has a value of 4.23mm. The value of 12 pt (points) is 1/6 of the value of 1 inches or 1/6 of 2.54cm.
The font size or font size can be set in pt (points). Starting from the smallest unit of 1 pt to what you want, you can apply it to set the font size of an HTML element.
